Our Simple System
“Welcome” – our front door reads…and we mean it. Where pop by-ers are welcome and the scent of coffee and laundry take turns. Our home tells a story, and I think thats my favorite part. In any room I go in there is a piece of something, that shares a relationship with someone.
Our home is my peace. Its where the smell of bacon means Saturday has graced us; as rested eyes take their sweet little time to the breakfast table. Ah, that table. It’s been with us 8 years now – its a little shocking we’ve only painted it once. Its held every meal, plenty of excutive mom/dad meetings, Pinterest fails, belly laughs, and puddles of tears. Where we share dreams and make plans. Where choas meets comfort in the most divine imperfectious way.
Our home was given anew life when my grandma passed away last year. Leaving behind timeless treasures in every nook. Hand written notes turn into gold, her recipes like diamonds. My grandma was strongest woman I have ever met. She was the kind of girl that once had a proposal denied from a committee, fought it, then later became president of that very committee. If she believed in it , there was just no stopping her. The week she checked herself into the hopsice center I asked if there was anything I could bring her to make her more comfortable. Her request was simple, champagne and proper glassware.
“Granny the Great” Thats what she was.
Our house is full of family, fanned in fabulous, and with two busy kids – mostly importantly it functions. EVERYTHING in your home should in fact, have a home. A spot that if its not in use its visionally appealing but also works well with your family habits. I am so excited to share our journey, how we continue to anew our own nest and others who join our coop.
Our system is simple.
I encourage you to get messy. Get into those nitty gritty spaces and set you and your family up for success. My home is my peace and yours should be too.
