"Welcome” – our front door reads…and we mean it. Where pop by-ers are welcome and the scent of coffee and laundry take turns. Our home tells a story, and I think thats my favorite part. In any room I go in there is a piece of something, that shares a relationship with someone.

St. Patty’s Day Is Almost Here ☘️
The girls and I have been making it special for years, and honestly it’s become one of those little traditions I never want to lose. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top – just simple crafts, a little bit of magic, and a lot of giggles at the kitchen table.
There’s something about St. Patrick’s Day that makes it easy to lean into the fun. Maybe it’s the bright greens, the silly leprechaun stories, or the excuse to add a little sparkle and mischief to an otherwise normal week.
Over the years we’ve tried all kinds of crafts, but these are a few of our favorites that are easy, cute, and perfect to do with kids.
🍀 Shamrock Handprint Art
This one is a classic and makes the sweetest keepsake.
What you need
Paint your child’s hand green and stamp four handprints in a circle to create a shamrock shape. Add a little stem with a brush and write the year underneath. It’s simple, adorable, and something you’ll love pulling out years later.
🌈 Rainbow Paper Chains
This is perfect if you have younger kids and want something easy.
What you need
Cut strips of paper and create a rainbow chain by looping and attaching each color. Hang it on a doorway or across a window. Bonus points if you add a little “pot of gold” cup at the end filled with chocolate coins.
✨ Leprechaun Trap
If you’ve never built a leprechaun trap with your kids you’re missing out.
Use a small box and let the kids decorate it with glitter, stickers, rainbows, and gold coins. Add a stick holding up the box with a trail of “gold” leading inside. The idea is to catch the sneaky leprechaun overnight.
Spoiler alert – they’re very tricky and usually escape… but they sometimes leave a little candy or note behind.
🎨 Lucky Rock Painting
Go on a quick walk, collect a few smooth rocks, and paint them with shamrocks, rainbows, or the word lucky. Once they dry, you can place them in a garden, along a walkway, or even hide them for neighbors to find.
The Best Part
The crafts are fun, but the real magic is the time together. Some years the paint spills, someone gets glitter everywhere, and half the crafts don’t turn out like the Pinterest photo – but those are usually the moments we laugh about the most.
St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t have to be elaborate to be memorable. A few simple crafts, a little imagination, and a kitchen table full of creativity is more than enough.
And if you’re anything like me, you might even snap a few photos along the way, because these little moments have a funny way of becoming the ones you treasure most. ☘️
